Committees

Our Board oversees a number of Committees, all of which are open to non-Board-members to join. Contact the Committee Chair below if you have questions about the committee or are interested in joining.

In addition to these Committees, we liaise with South Baltimore Gateway Partnership and Federal Hill Main Street. Contact info@federalhillbaltimore.org to learn more about these relationships.

  • Beautification

    Christian Miller

The Beautification Committee believes in making our neighborhood better day by day. We facilitate neighborhood cleanups and efforts to keep Federal Hill parks, streets, and sidewalks looking their best.

  • Block Captains

    Zac Blanchard

Our block captains welcome new residents, encourage social connection and neighborliness on their blocks, and facilitate communication between their neighbors, FHNA, and city agencies as needed.

  • CHAP

    Fran Landolf

The FHNA Architectural Review Committee (ARC) serves residents and businesses by helping them make improvements within CHAP design guidelines.

We help residents and businesses with CHAP approval. The ARC provides the neighborhood recommendation for projects. City CHAP commissioners factor this in neighborhood recommendation when making the final decision on a project.

  • Membership

    CHAIR POSITION OPEN

The Membership Committee organizes and supports new memberships and membership renewals.

  • Parking

    John Bacci

Organizes the annual permit renewal process, answers questions regarding parking regulations, and maintains a line of communication between the Parking Authority and the neighborhood.

  • Public Safety

    Brad O’Brien

The Public Safety Committee works with the Baltimore City Police Dept. and Sheriff’s office, nearby neighborhood associations, and others to address safety concerns in our community. Our committee regularly shares Public Safety Updates and works to identify solutions for public safety that make our community safe for residents and guests.

  • Schools & Families

    CHAIR POSITION OPEN

The Schools & Families Committee works to support a great K-12 education for all students enrolled in Federal Hill schools, and to make Federal Hill a great community for families with children.

  • Social

    Sheri Hunt

The mission of the Social Committee is to foster a cohesive community by organizing fun, interesting events for the entire community so neighbors can meet and socialize with each other and to recruit and retain Association members.

  • Technology

    Jeanne McCann

The Technology Committee supports the neighborhood through effective communication, tools for marketing and communications, and implementation of other beneficial technology.

The purpose of the block captain program is three-fold:

  1. To make sure that every new resident in the neighborhood gets welcomed in and knows someone they can reach out to with questions, concerns, etc.

  2. To encourage social connection and neighborliness on your block.

  3. To communicate between your neighbors, and your neighborhood association, as needed.

  4. The fourth (unofficial) reason is to win the annual best-decorated block award (a leg lamp) each December.

We meet together once a quarter, and have an annual appreciation dinner each May.

Interested in being a Block Captain? Reach out to Zac Blanchard, the Block Captain chair, at zachary.j.blanchard55@gmail.com or 337-214-9585.

Please feel free to reach out to your Block Captain! The block captains are noted below (note that smaller blocks may be attached to a neighboring block). If your block doesn’t yet have a Block Captain, please reach out to Zac (above), who would be happy to welcome you to the neighborhood.
